Donor Service Program
Why are most donations missed?
- They are not sent in through the mail as pledged.
- The donor did not participate in the organization’s meeting or event and did not make their donation.
- Donations that are made electronically are returned for invalid account numbers, problem cards, or insufficient funds.
- Donors are having financial difficulties and can’t make their pledges.
Is there a way to cut down on missed donations?
- Having donors set-up in an electronic giving agreement will increase pledges because pledges are automatically withdraw from their accounts.
- An electronic agreement can stop pledges from being missed when a member is absent because it is not dependant on donor participation at your event.
- There is nothing you can do or should do if a donor is experiencing financial difficulties. History shows that most of these donors return once their financial situation turns around.
- Our experience shows that donors who experience a problem with account numbers, expired, lost or stolen cards appreciate being contacted by our donor service representatives. They continue giving once the information is updated.
